Marc Fleischer Retiring After 37 Year Career; Board Appoints Robert J. Drago President

Macedon, NY:   After successfully growing Fleischer’s Bagels, Inc. from a single retail store into a leading manufacturer of premium quality bagel products, chief executive officer Marc Fleischer has announced his retirement from the company effective August 1, 2008 after a career spanning 37 years in the food industry.

After conducting a national search, the board of directors has named Robert J. Drago president.  A third generation food industry executive, he brings with him over 20 years of multi-channel marketing and operations management experience with companies including Goya Foods, Rich Products Corporation and eDiets, where he most recently served as vice president and general manager of their award winning ready-to-eat (RTE) fresh meal delivery program. 

Mr. Drago holds a BS in finance from Babson College and an MBA from the University of Buffalo.  An active member of the community, he has held a variety of leadership positions on outside boards and business advisory groups in Upstate New York and South Florida.  Upon the retirement of Marc Fleischer, Mr. Drago will also join Fleischer’s board of directors.

Mr. Drago will be based at the company’s Macedon, New York headquarters and will be relocating to the Rochester area with his wife and three sons.
